Camera originals, checked on arrival.

Umberfold takes stills and clips straight off the card — resumable, checksummed part by part — and hands back edit copies while you are still on location.

How it works

  1. Open a session. Give us the file's name and size. You get a session and the part size to use.
  2. Send parts. The client uploads several parts at once. If the connection drops, it asks where it stopped and carries on from there.
  3. Seal it. When the last part lands we check the whole file, then cut lightweight edit copies and previews.
  • Resumes where it stopped. Hotel Wi-Fi and tethered phones drop. A dropped connection costs one part, not the card.
  • Every part checksummed. Parts are verified as they arrive and the finished file is verified again, so "uploaded" means intact.
  • Edit copies on arrival. Review files and JPEG previews appear as soon as a file is sealed, so the edit can start before the shoot wraps.

Made for location work

A day of 4K shooting fills cards quickly. A 20-minute ProRes 422 HQ card is about 100 GB, and a full day of RAW stills is easily as much. Umberfold is built around that: large parts, several in flight, patient retries, and no assumption that the connection you started on is the one you will finish on.

Originals are kept for 14 days after a file is sealed and then deleted. Edit copies stay until you remove them.
